The National Education Policy(NEP), 2020 reinstates the  National Policy of Education, 1986. The Ministry of Education has received 15 lakh suggestion from the different teachers. All these suggestions are taken into consideration to frame the Education Policy. The main idea behind this new policy is to make the education science, logic, critical thinking, creativity, curiosity, collaboration and communication oriented. A great importance is given to artificial intelligence, data science, coding and robotics in new education policy.

The basic idea behind the New Education Policy is to push the education from mark-oriented approach to learning-oriented approach and focusing on fundamental education.  This will make the youth of India ready for future. The Prime Minister of India Mr. Narender Modi appeal  to all students, teachers, parents, NGOs, and government authorities to come forward together to make sure the proper effective implementation of policy. The NEP offers a new curriculum outline which will switch from the present 10+2 format to 5+3+3+4 curricular structure.

The main limitation of the present education system is continuous drop outs. Therefore  in new policy, the stress is given to make the education fun based and interesting for the students so that drop out rate can be reduced.
