Life is about what you offer to it, not what you get. Good karma can be hard to come and it’s about initiating the daily practice of things we have heard multiple times. So what will motivate you to create good karma? Before that, let’s understand the term karma.

What Is Karma?

Karma can be seen as a principle that directs our words, thoughts, and actions. It is the profound spiritual concept we humans are familiar with. We do make mistakes unintentionally and it is termed bad karma. So we are in search of making good karma. There are different types of karma prarabdha, sanchita, and kriyamana or agami.

Here let us see different ways to build good karma that makes your life happy and purposeful.

12 Ways to Build Good Karma and Create Happiness

1. You Can’t Run Off From Your Karma!

It is fact and applies to us in whatever action we perform. Every action has its reaction. But how it relates to karma. Karma is divine, a power that balances our universe. When we are linking our paths in life and mapping out it, we are all connected and that’s because of karma, the action we take. Our fate is all destined so you can’t run away from it. Do good and good happens to you!

2. Take Immediate Steps To Correct Mistakes

We as humans tend to make lots of mistakes but it’s essential to correct those mistakes. We probably have hurt someone without even realizing it. But when we do, it is important to take action and correct that mistake immediately. It will make the person forgive us for our mistake and bad karma becomes negligible as we have taken steps towards making good karma.

3. Make Concern, Affection Your Religion

It is not necessary to be religious to create positive karma. To create positive karma, one does not need to be a Buddhist or follow any religious faith. You need to do is have a compassionate attitude toward people.

“My religion is kindness,” states his holiness to the Dalai Lama on several occasions. So being kind is all it takes to create good karma. When you approach everything not just for a moment but throughout one’s life and in every relationship and every aspect of your living you feel motivated by an attitude of kindness.

You are creating good karma to be kind to others and be kind to yourself. It is the best path to experiencing life free of annoyances.

4. Listen to Others by Lending Your Ear

When someone comes to you for a helping hand or a shoulder to cry on because they have no one else to turn to, do not turn them away, even if you are not particularly close to them, even if you are too busy, even if it irritates you. It is a good deed to sit and listen to someone whine and complain.

Anyone and everyone can be your friend. All you have to do is give up some of your time. Even if you don’t know someone, be a friend to them. Be available to anyone. Help a weaker spirit with your greater spirit. You will be exercising true compassion if you share the joy of your spirit with a stranger.

5. Recite the Mantra

Our lives, like our surroundings in this world, are loaded with negativity. Chanting a mantra is one of the simplest techniques to cleanse one’s soul and open up new possibilities for our mind, body, and soul to lessen the effect or get rid of negativity. Chanting the mantra helps to purify the negative karma imprints from our current and previous lives. If we continue to be negative, it will undoubtedly follow us into the next world.

Simply repeat the mantra ‘Om Mani Padme Hum’. This mantra will help you relax, calm your thoughts and senses, and free your mind of bad feelings. Don’t think about anything else than the chant. Allow it to penetrate and amplify in your mind and senses. Always use good ideas when chanting the mantra.

6. Allow Others to Approach

Rage is a pretty regular occurrence nowadays. Hearing about it is just as terrifying as experiencing it. We are impatient and believe that we are better than everyone else, thus we will stand firm even if we are in the wrong!

For example, while driving, we will not allow anyone to pass us. We will continue to do so in order to prevent the person in front of us from gaining an advantage. This leads to unnecessary negativity, abuse, and honking, as well as agitating everyone else. But it’s all in vain. So, how about creating bad karma for no reason? Giving way is a simple approach to prevent this!

7. Read a Spiritual or Pious Book

Many of us think of reading a spiritual or religious book as an ancient tradition. What we fail to see is that these books are important; they tell stories that define values via action, philosophies that lead to a better road, and, of course, they teach you the new meaning of life while demonstrating the futility of material items.

Reading a spiritual book can help you grasp the deeper meaning of life and make better decisions by allowing you to recognize the positive aspects of life.

8. Meditate!

Meditation allows you to relax and unwind. Yes, it allows you to tune in to your thoughts while removing all distractions from your environment. It clears your mind of thoughts, allowing you to focus on your inner being. It assists you in gaining a better understanding of your body and mind, as well as connecting with your soul.

In a nutshell, it aids in the achievement of clarity. It allows you to view the larger picture and shift your outlook on life. Naturally, a person with a calmer mind, and having inner peace will make better decisions that will benefit others as well as themselves.

9. Everyone Needs to Be Respected

Yes, everyone needs to be taken into account and respected. We are taught to respect our elders, instructors, and gurus as we grow up. This isn’t to say that we shouldn’t appreciate those who are younger than us or who are lower in status, creed, or gender than us. This is because we are all created equal and have a mission to fulfill.

As a result, we are unable to determine who is better or inferior. Respect also entails taking the other person’s feelings into account rather than disregarding them. Someone feels wonderful when they are respected. It makes them feel good about you, which leads to positive karma.

10. ‘Me’ Time Is a Must

We fail to give ourselves the time we deserve in our mad rush through life. Each of us wants to do something similar to what the other is doing, but it isn’t what we actually want to do. It’s not going to hurt to spend some time alone in nature, in your room, or on the beach with one’s own thoughts.

Instead, it encourages us to think, reflect on our behaviors, and reconnect with ourselves. It assists us in gaining clarity and determining the best course of action. As a result, taking some me’ time aids in self-awareness, and to develop self-discipline, aids in doing good unto others, and generates positive karma.

11. Develop Love And Happiness

As human beings, it is critical that we share and spread peace and happiness in this life. We are doing everything we can to defeat evil forces and carry out causes for the greater good, which is the most effective way to convert karma and create good karma. Happiness has the ability to cure a person’s illness. It can offer a ray of hope to someone who is down on their luck. As a result, the pleasant energy generated by his joy may contribute to your good Karma.

12. Accept Failure and Offer Success to Others

We conquer our pride and starve the ego of self-cherishing thoughts by providing wins to others. We reduce arrogance by accepting loss. When working in the business sector or engaging with others at work, this mind training activity is extremely beneficial. Tensions between you and others tend to occur when you’re working on something essential or working against a deadline, and this is when winning and losing take on surreal proportions. Consider these times to be the best for generating good karma.

You would debate fiercely just to make a point, but in the end, you recognized you were not only disrupting your own mind, but also the brains of others. You’ll find the freedom of losing and letting go, of no longer being bound by the urge to win.

That’s when you realized how much better you felt when you gave others joy and accepted defeat yourself. The act of surrendering to someone else’s idea or viewpoint was not a cop-out on your side — it was a means of agreeing to disagree, and simultaneously continuing to give your support and help. You are producing positive karma by doing so, and you will receive similar kinds of support from others in the future.

Promote Positive Thinking With Karma!

Karma isn’t designed to be a kind of payback. It exists for the purpose of education. How can someone learn to be a nice person if they are never taught that detrimental behavior is unacceptable? A person can only suffer if he or she has created the conditions for it.
