The SBR (Sequential Batch Reactor) wastewater treatment technology is a method of treating wastewater through small batch biological processes. The purpose of this process is to decompose organic matter, reduce nitrogen and suspended solids in the wastewater.

SBR uses two tanks, the Selector and the C-tech, with wastewater flowing from the Selector to the C-tech for further treatment. During the treatment process, aeration is carried out in the Selector tank to provide enough oxygen for microorganisms to grow.

SBR carries out the treatment process in a cycle of 5 stages in each tank, including: (1) Fill (2) Aeration (3) Settle (4) Draw (5) Idle. The treatment process is controlled and monitored automatically to ensure that the treated wastewater meets environmental standards and is safe for the environment.

Advantages of SBR technology

The advantages of SBR technology:

Simple structure: SBR technology has a simple structure, making it easy to implement and operate.

Suitable for various systems and capacities: SBR technology can be applied to many types of systems and can be expanded to meet the wastewater treatment needs of production facilities, construction sites, or cities.

Convenient for troubleshooting: SBR can quickly and easily control any issues that arise during the wastewater treatment process.

Easy to scale up: SBR technology can be expanded to meet the increasing demands of wastewater treatment.

High treatment efficiency: SBR has the ability to effectively decompose organic matter and reduce Nitrogen and Phosphorus levels in wastewater.

Quick treatment of high-concentration Nitrogen and Phosphorus: SBR can treat hazardous substances such as Nitrogen and Phosphorus even at high concentrations.

Stable and flexible: SBR technology has the ability to maintain stability and flexibility in the wastewater treatment process, ensuring good treated water quality.

The disadvantages of SBR technology

Although SBR wastewater treatment technology has many advantages, there are also some disadvantages as follows:

High technical requirements: Operators of the SBR system require expertise, technical knowledge, and skills to monitor and adjust the wastewater treatment process. This requires continuous training to ensure the system operates effectively.

Air blower system blockage: Sludge can cause blockages in the air blower system, causing problems in the wastewater treatment process. Regular cleaning and maintenance are essential to prevent this from happening.

Complex control system programming: Programming an automatic control system for SBR treatment technology is quite complex and requires technicians with in-depth knowledge of electronics, telecommunications, programming, and data management. Updating and maintaining software is also a challenge for system managers.

Stability and reliability: Although SBR technology is highly effective in treating wastewater, there are still issues with the stability and reliability of the system. Electrical, equipment, or environmental problems can negatively impact the wastewater treatment process.
