A super duplex plate is a type of stainless steel plate that contains a high amount of chromium and nickel, making it highly corrosion-resistant. It is also known for its high strength and excellent resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking. Super Duplex Plate is typically used in the oil and gas industry, as well as in marine and chemical processing applications.

Types of Super Duplex Plate

There are several different types of super duplex plates, including:

  • Super Duplex 2507 (UNS S32750) – This type of plate is known for its excellent resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking, and is commonly used in the oil and gas industry.
  • Zeron 100 (UNS S32760) – This type of plate offers excellent corrosion resistance and high strength, and is often used in marine and chemical processing applications.
  • Ferralium 255 (UNS S32550) – This type of plate is known for its high strength and corrosion resistance, and is commonly used in the oil and gas industry, as well as in marine and chemical processing applications.
  • LDX 2101 (UNS S32101) – This type of plate offers high strength, corrosion resistance, and excellent resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking, and is commonly used in the oil and gas industry and chemical processing applications.
  • Duplex 2205 (UNS S31803) – This type of plate is known for its good resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking, and is commonly used in the oil and gas industry, and marine and chemical processing applications.

Difference between S32750 & S32760 Super Duplex Plate

S32750 and S32760 are both types of Super Duplex Plates, but they have some key differences.

S32750, also known as Super Duplex 2507, has a higher chromium content compared to S32760. This gives it better resistance to corrosion and stress corrosion cracking, making it suitable for use in harsh environments and high-stress applications. S32750 also has a higher yield strength and a higher resistance to chloride pitting and crevice corrosion.

On the other hand, S32760, also known as Zeron 100, has a higher nickel content than S32750. This gives it improved resistance to corrosion and stress corrosion cracking. Additionally, it has a higher resistance to chloride pitting and crevice corrosion, as well as a higher toughness at low temperatures.

In general, S32750 is considered to be a more versatile super duplex steel, and it is used in a wide range of applications, including pressure vessels, heat exchangers, and chemical processing equipment. While S32760 is typically used in more specialized applications, such as oil and gas production, desalination, and seawater systems.
