Out of God’s devout angels, the archangel, Michael, the Messenger, Gabriel, and the Prince of Healing, Raphael, there was one of God’s creations that sat at the highest rank. Lucifer was revered as God’s favorite. However, he became prideful of his beauty and stature. Being God’s exalted wasn’t enough for him. He wanted to become God and tried to overthrow Him.

Where he wanted to be called God, he ended up being known as “The Fallen.”
Lucifer’s fall from grace is an analogy that applies to our world as well. When Jesus gave His life on the cross, He freed humanity from the fires of Hell. God didn’t need to send His only Son to save people who cheated, lied, and rebelled against His Word.

When Jesus spent His life healing the sick, feeding the hungry, and preaching the Good News to a lost generation, people refused to bow before the Truth.

For God so loved the world, that he gave him only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

⦁ John 3:16
Despite being so loved by God, our generation is too proud and will not bow before their Creator. Sound familiar? The devil loves attacking those closest to God. He wants His position. Hence, he tempts people every single day to bow before him.

But how do we steer clear of these temptations? How do we survive in a fallen world?

⦁ Prayer and Fasting
Communication and closeness with God are the foundation of your faith. Prayer means talking to God and confessing your feelings and temptations. You must build a healthy relationship with God to be a good Christian. Jesus, too, was tempted thrice for forty days in the desert while fasting, but He rebuked Satan and stayed true to His purpose.

⦁ Doing Good
In our arrogant world where no one is abiding by the principles of our first Christians, do your part in sharing and giving to those in need. Random acts of kindness will derive a feeling of satisfaction, one that no worldly pleasure will be able to. It will also encourage other people to do the same.

⦁ Faith
In times of weakness, when you’ll feel like giving in to the world, undying faith in God will help you through the grasp of Satan. Think of how much Jesus had to suffer on the cross. Faith bridges the gap between God and yourself in a world that only builds up walls.

⦁ Seek help
On the day of the Pentecost, God gave apostles the power to speak in tongues and the courage to spread the Word. Then the apostles prioritized building a community among each other. They shared land, bread, and possessions. In order to be away from sin, you need to surround yourself with people who follow God.

⦁ Read
The reason we call faith a “practice” is because, without practice, it weakens. Studying the Bible will help you realize more about your faith and how to strengthen it. People seek external help when suffering from depression and anxiety when they don’t realize that the answer is with them all along.

In a swarm of fallen people, you often search for God. Author Wayne J. Coleman’s book Who Is This God: A Journey of Faith is a brilliant read when we find our faith shaking and our bodies giving into temptation. Wayne brilliantly depicts his journey of faith and hardships with stories and insights.
