The Mythological Story Behind the Rudra Avatar of Lord Shiva:
As per the mythology, Lord Vishnu agreed to be born as a man in a quest to defeat Ravana. Lord Brahma asked Lord Shiva to help Lord Vishnu in defeating Ravana by taking an Avatar. Lord Shiva decided to be born as the son of the Wind God Vayu and the Apsara Anajani- Hanuman. Lord Hanuman was born a Vanara prince because of the curse given by Durvasa Rishi.

As per the mythology, it is believed that long ago, a farmer on a Tuesday was ploughing his field in Asota village located in Rajasthan. While ploughing, his plough suddenly struck something hard, and the farmer couldn’t move the plough any further. After inspecting the area, the farmer found a stone which he kept digging and at last found an idol of Lord Hanuman.
During that exact time, the wife of the farmer came to the field and brought Churma for lunch. The farmer fed the idol with Churma, which later became customary practice. Later that night, the Landlord of the field dreamt a dream of Lord Hanumana asking the Landlord to establish the idol in a temple in Salasar. Lord Hanuman also appeared in the dream with a beard and moustache to Saint Mohandas at the same time who was a resident of Salasar, asking him to bring the idol from the Asota Village to Salasar, which both of them complied and built the Salasar Balaji temple.
As Lord Hanumana is the Rudra Avatar of Lord Shiva and Lord Balaji is the Avatar of Lord Hanumana, several devotees flock together to the divine Salasar Dham to worship Lord Balaji and win the divine grace and blessings for the Lord.
