A transit visa is a particular type of visa issued to a traveler passing through New Zealand to reachto reach another destination. It is applied by those planning to stay in the country for less than twenty-four hours. Holders of transit visas can only travel through the Auckland International Airport.

They will not be allowed to travel outside the airport’s transit area. If you have a partner and children, then it is possible to include their names in the visa application. The children must belong to the age group of below nineteen years. Those from visa waiver countries need to hold NZeTA. 

Australian citizens, holders of temporary class visas and NZ residence class visas are exempted from a transit visa.
