Due to the upcoming elections in India this summer, The BCCI announced the Tata IPL 2024 schedule for the first 21 games from March 22 to April 7. The IPL’s governing council will declare the schedule for the remaining games later.

The opening game will witness the defending champion CSK lock horns with RCB in Chennai. Players from both teams have arrived in Chennai and started their training sessions. While CSK enjoys a home advantage, RCB has a poor record against CSK, its archrival.
Royal Challengers Bangalore and Gujarat Titans will play five matches in this schedule. Kolkata, Rajasthan, Lucknow, Punjab, and Chennai have three games. Mumbai, SRH, and Delhi Capitals will play four. Delhi Capitals will play two of its home games in Vizag. While Pat Cummins will replace Aiden Markram to lead Sunrisers Hyderabad, Hardik Pandya will captain the Mumbai side in place of Rohit Sharma. Young Shubman Gill will captain the Gujarat side.
