2N3906 is a commonly used PNP bipolar junction transistor, suitable for general low-power amplification or switching applications. It is designed for low current, low power and medium voltage, and can run at medium high speed. 2N3906 is made of TO-92 plastic case. When looking down at the flat side from the leads, the three leads appearing from the transistor are the emitter, base, and collector leads from left to right. The collector current of 2N3906 is 200 mA, the collector-base and collector-emitter voltages are 40 V, and the power consumption is 300 mW. Its transition frequency Ft is 250 MHz and β is at least 100. The complementary NPN transistor of 2N3906 is 2N3904.  Both types were registered by Motorola Semiconductor in the mid-1960s. 2N3904 (NPN) and 2N3906 (PNP) are complementary transistor pairs. These transistors are available in TO-92, SOT23, and SOT223 package styles with different prefixes.
