Movers and Shakers are people who get things done. They are the entrepreneurs who literally create value out of thin air while having access to very limited resources. They are the unstoppable achievers. Eternally on the move starting new projects or resuscitating defunct ones. They are the wonderful alphas without which the economy would soon plunge to a screeching halt.
Your resourcefulness is all about your creativity and determination to get things done. What is really stopping you from setting up an online business? Is it really the lack of resources or the fear of stepping into the unknown and failing? Many great entrepreneurs have failed at something at sometime in their Importance of resourseful business life. If you want a work from home business you have resourceful, to be willing to learn and have a burning passion to succeed.
Wrath – Letting emotions blind your judgment. From an emotional standpoint, owning a business is akin to riding a rollercoaster. You never know if today will bring great news or a huge blow. But you should never let emotions guide your business decisions. If a project is failing and you’ve done everything you can to make it work, cut your losses and move on. If you hang in there until the bitter end, you’ll erode all your resources and make it much harder on yourself to turn things around. Deciding to shut down a project that isn’t working does not equal failure. It’s the most bold, brave and smart move you can make. Congratulate yourself, and then move on to bigger things.
Part Time Work – I say this with caution because many people start a second job and ignore their business to the point where they end up losing it. That said, there are many others who by working a few hours per week at a second job, can make a base of income which gives them the financial means and the peace of mind needed to hang in there with their Business resourcefulness. If you are considering this, keep the following in mind: The job should allow you plenty of time to work in and grow your current business. The pay should be a good amount per hour. A job should not be one that you take home with you. You should be able to forget about it when you leave for the day and concentrate on your business. You still need to balance your time and allow time for family, fun, centering activities, and personal care.
Exercise – Not only a great stress reducer but it increases confidence. It also helps brain functioning which helps us come up with good ideas and insights that enhance our work.
A common reason I hear people not starting online business is because they don’t feel they have the education or intelligence required. Running an internet business is not brain surgery. You just need common sense, average literacy, a little dash of resourcefulness and a burning desire to succeed.
A great resource for direct mail marketing is Jeffrey Dobkin’s books, How to Market A Product for Under $500, and Uncommon Marketing Techniques. These are both pretty much pre-Internet marketing, and parts of them are less relevant to today’s reality; nevertheless I highly recommend both of these books as classics in the field of direct marketing.
