The forklift license is not a license to drive vehicles on the road but is used to drive and maneuver forklifts. It is therefore a professional qualification, mandatory by law, which certifies the training of the operator using the trolleys. In the following paragraphs you will find information on the cost of the forklift license and on how to obtain it.

WHAT IS A Forklift:

According to Annex A of the Agreement between the State and the Regions of 22 February 2012 concerning the identification of work equipment for which a specific operator qualification is required, as well as the methods for recognizing this qualification, forklifts are intended as self-propelled forklifts with driver on board, which in turn are divided into:

– self-propelled telescopic arm trucks: counterweight forklifts equipped with one or more articulated arms, telescopic or not, non-rotating, used to stack loads;

– self-propelled industrial trolleys: any vehicle equipped with wheels (except those running on rails) designed to transport, tow, push, lift, stack or place any type of load on racks and operated by an operator on board on a seat;

– telescopic rotary self-propelled trolleys, lifters or elevators: self-propelled equipment equipped with one or more articulated arms, telescopic or not, rotating, used to move loads and operated by an operator on board on a seat. Here are some forklift buying tips

HOW TO TAKE THE Forklift LICENSE:

The forklift license is obtained at the end of a training course, aimed at learning the appropriate operating techniques to use the equipment in safe conditions, which provides, just like the licenses for cars and motorcycles, a theoretical part and a Practice Test. Also based on the 2012 State Regions Agreement, the trainers of the training course and refresher course can be:

– the Regions and the Autonomous Provinces;

– The Ministry of Labor and Social Policies;

– I nail and trade union associations;

– Professional orders or colleges;

– Manufacturers, distributors, hire or users (the latter limited to their workers) that deal with the distribution of forklifts;

– The trainers, with at least three years documented experience in training
for these specific equipment;

– The trainers, with documented experience of at least 6 years in occupational health and safety training;

– Bilateral bodies and building schools.
