Rivets can be made through different process but here we will be be using the cold forging process to make any particular Rivet for the customer.At Bhalla Fasteners we specialise in customised fasteners.Bhalla Fasteners are the leading manufacturers of rivet in India.
Material we will be using is 15B25 or 10B21 or any medium low carbon steel according to the requirements.Grades can be 4.6,5.6,8.8,10.9,12.9 or any alloy steel .
In cold forging we will be using die forms and punches to produce these parts from metal wire.In cold forging process we push the material through a die and form the shape we desire .
Steps –
1. Making of specific die and tools.
2. Cold forging process
3. Wire is fed into the process and is then cut off at a length that will produce the precise volume required for the final product.
4. Forming of the head with a punch or die or a combination of both .
5. Machining process for the rivet
6. Heat Treatment of the compete part so that it becomes hardened and anneal .
7. Finishing process involves the surface to be cleaned and auto black coated .
We will be using the cold forging route to make this particular rivet.
Cold forging process makes the rivet more cost effective then the machining process because none of the feedstock is wasted .
Also Cold forging is less expensive,quick and can produce more volume then hot forging process.
