Introduction:

Off-Line PWM Controllers with Integrated Power MOSFET is specially designed to supplant all linear and capacitor-fed (cap dropper) non-isolated power supplies in the below 360 mA output current range at equal system cost while extending much higher performance and energy efficiency. Different devices integrate a 700 V power MOSFET, oscillator, simple On/Off control scheme, a high-voltage switched current source, frequency jittering, cycle-by-cycle current limit.

Working:

As with any power supply layout, all Link Switch-TN models should be tested for proper functionality on the bench. The subsequent minimum tests are recommended as Sufficient DC rail voltage check that the minimum DC input voltage does not fall below 70 VDC at maximum load, minimum input voltage. Proper Diode Selection and series diodes are recommended only for designs that operate in MDCM at an ambient of 70 °C or below. For designs operating in continuous conduction mode or higher ambiences, then a diode with a reverse recovery time of 35 ns or better, such as the BYV26C, is recommended.
When all conditions are satisfied diode must operate in CCM and DCM Mode.
