Part Number: FAN7530

Description

Using critical conduction mode, the FAN7530 is an active PFC controller that operates in critical conduction mode (CRM). It generates the MOSFET turn-off signal by comparing an internal ramp signal with the output of the error amplifier, which is accomplished through the use of the voltage mode PWM. The voltage mode CRM PFC controller does not require rectified AC line voltage information, resulting in a reduction in the power loss of the input voltage sensing network that would otherwise be required by the current mode CRM PFC controller. There are numerous protection functions provided by the FAN7530, including over voltage protection, open-feedback protection, over-current protection, and under-voltage lockout protection, among others. if the INV pin voltage is less than 0.45V and the operational current is less than 65mA, the FAN7530 can be turned off. When a new variable on-time control mechanism is used, the total harmonic distortion (THD) is lower than with standard CRM boost PFC integrated circuits.

Total harmonic distortion (THD) is kept to a bare minimum. Over-voltage protection is precise and adjustable.
