Quick Release Mooring Hooks were developed in the 1950’s after an increasing number of shipping accidents in the oil and gas industry. They are now widely used as throughout the maritime industry, in Oil and Gas, and other volatile bulk cargo terminals where safety is critical. The Quick Release Hook Systems vary from basic manually controlled single hooks, to multiple hooks incorporating load monitoring pins, remote release buttons and integrated centralised control panels, allowing operators real time information on the mooring loads. In the event of an emergency, the hook release can be activated, and the mooring lines and vessel immediately released, even when the mooring lines are loaded up to the hook’s operating capacity. Fender Systems
