History of Face Mask, Respirators

The reason was the first masks were processed so far medical mask history is concerned we must remember Christos Lynteris who was a senior lecturer at the Department of Social Anthropology in St.Andrew university who had mastery in medical mask history.
During the Renaissance-era people use to cover their noses, with pieces of clothes to avoid illness. During the 1700s in Marseilles the epicenter of plague that shows gravediggers and people handling bodies with the cloth around their face, actually plague was spread by the bites of fleas that move on the rats. People used to wear a cloth around their mouths and noses, they believed the plague was a kind of gas flowing from the ground. This event invented the design of the masks seen across Europe in the 1600s which would be worn by doctors, People thought that by protecting themselves from the smell of the plague, they would be protected from the plague itself.

During the 1870s, scientists had learned about bacteria and they developed.

Dignified Handkerchief

For preventing doctors from coughing or sneezing droplets onto wounds during surgery.

THE FIRST MODERN RESPIRATOR IS BORN FROM PLAGUE—AND RACISM

In 1910, The plague broke out across Manchuria. Now as Northern China an expedition was carried out in China later in Russia.

Ultimately a conclusion came out that the plague was not spread by fleas but through the Air.

The mask was truly developed in china that was a little bit harder mask from cotton and gauze which could wrap around the face. The mask was added with several layers having facility of filtration simultaneously numbers of design mask according to the medical pre-efficiency and success came into effect.

The N95 mask was introduced for industrial purpose but gradually arrived in the hospital

During World War, I & II scientist invented air filtering gas mask for procuring clean air gradually another mask were designed for the mining industry to prevent black lung.

HOW TO STITCH N95 MASK

The material requires for the N95 mask.

1.Fabric (100% cotton)
2.Elastic
3.Thread
4.Nose Pin
5.Fabric Scissor
6.Thimbles
7.Sewing Machine
8.Melt blown filter

CUTTING

Cut out mask pattern according to the attached sample.

FINISHING

Firstly the pattern design is cut by the mother machine, then inserted for elastic fitting, then proper stitches take place as per the design attached. Finally, Brand printing takes place and it is packed in a box.

QUALITY CONTROL.

The quality of the fabric is always checked before it comes into the process.

Test Parameters: Described by the customers.

Area & Test specimen

Sample Exposure side: Face side
The flow rate of aerosol: 28.5 L/min
Mean particle size of challenging aerosol: 3.2(+-)0.25
Average plate count:1840 of a positive count
Average plate count of negative count : 0
BFE of test specimen (%)=98.5
A result from the sample showed 98.9% bacteria filtration efficiency against staphylococcus aureus ATCC6535.

Know More About Respirator

How N95 Face Mask & Respirator Evolves and Protect The World 2

1. What is a Respirator?

Anti-Pollution masks are known as respirators. It is protective equipment worn over the mouth and nose, which helps to breathe cleaner air by preventing inhaling chemicals, particulate matter, and infectious particles such as bacteria and viruses.

2. what is the difference between MICRON and µm(micrometer)

Both are the same in terms of units of measurement (1*10⁻⁶meter)and SI (international system of units)derived unit of length equalling one-millionth of a meter. The Micrometer(SI symbol: µm) is also commonly known by the previous name micron.

3. Will it help against COVID 19?

It is very difficult for any mask company to give a guarantee for 100% protection against COVID 19 but the droplets/ aerosol but the N95 mask offer exceptional protection for all of us.

4. How long will the N95 mask last? What should one do if a mask is expired?

N95 mask can be reused up to 25 gentle hand washes and should be strictly discarded. If not opened N95 mask is safe to be used till 18 months from the date of manufacturing.

5. What is the correct way to wear an N95 Mask?

Wash your hand properly with soap or detergent before wearing or removing the mask. Hold ear strings by hands, face the concave side.
